With old and new friends, we are exploring the north of Hainan Island.  We are currently heading to Fushan, a famous coffee-growing region.  One more night in China!

Eaten by Fish

July 8th:

Ah, how soft is the skin after swimming in the South China Sea! Then hundreds of little fish bit, nibbled, chewed and munched on our skin; then we steamed and sweated through the saunas; then we strolled on the moonlit beach; then we slept like babies in our king-sized bed....soaking it up in Sanya.

Fun in Hainan

July 7th.

We arrived yesterday, delayed and tired but excited to see our friend in Haikou, Hainan. Sumptuous warm dinner eating crocodile, Hainanese chicken, the first of many.

back to china

our intrepid tour ended last night in hong kong... we all went out for dinner and said our good-byes. our tour leader felt quite emotional about finishing up.. a few tears. from there we headed down to the "avenue of the stars" on victoria harbour where we saw the famous statue of bruce lee - the famous hong kong movie star.

jane and i wandered through the temple street markets and got some great bargains -- some of them gifts, so we can't reveal what they are!

we're about to catch our flight to haikou on hainan island (back into china) where we'll meet up with a good friend, then probably head south to sanya for a few days of relaxing.
